Psalm 5:12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

"DIVINE FAVOUR"
-It is seen here that God is willing to bless the righteous and also protect him with the weapon of favour. When the favour of God is upon a man, he will be secured and protected against all oppositions and anti-favour moves of men.

Do we believe in prayer? Or do we just belie...ve in prayer in times of emergency only?

Isn’t it interesting how coming into the presence of God can calm the spirit and soul of a person?! Shouldn’t this tell us something about prayer? Shouldn’t this tell us that we need more time in His presence in order to calm us while living in this hectic world?

Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Why pray? Because in prayer we bow, we humble ourselves before Him. We admit our need. We admit our helplessness. We admit we need Him, His strength, His help, His blessing, His mercy and grace. AND WE DO! We do every day.

Give ear to my words, O Lord. Don’t we want God to hear us when we pray?

Psalm 5:3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Does the Lord hear your voice every morning? I hope so.

Mark 1:35 “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

We must ask early and often if we want God to answer our prayers.

If we believe He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble, why would we not want to be constantly talking to Him and seeking His grace?

Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” If God is our refuge and strength, let us pray, asking for mercy and grace constantly. WHY? Because we need Him and them!

Psalm5:1 Give ear to my words, O LORD. He will if we will. He will give ear to our words, our prayers, if we seek Him and ask of Him.

That is the way to pray! FOCUS OR CONCENTRATE ON THE LORD! The only way to survive this world is to focus on the Lord! Let us fix our eyes on Jesus!

Praying the scriptures of Psalm 5:8-12
Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Amen.
